It's time for Jennifer Garner's fans to rejoice as the 'Elektra' star is set to reprise her role as the iconic Marvel assassin. Now 51, the famed 'Alias' actress will be returning to her familiar role in the upcoming third 'Deadpool' movie, debuting next year as indicated by The Hollywood Reporter.
This surprising news may suggest a broader application of the multiverse by Marvel, linking back to the time when Garner first played Elektra for the Fox franchise. Garner made her initial appearance as Elektra in 2003's ‘Daredevil’, where she starred opposite her would-be husband, Ben Affleck.
In 2005, Garner’s character received its own standalone feature in 'Elektra', which unfortunately did not witness significant critical or commercial success. After almost two decades, Garner's reprising of the Elektra role in 'Deadpool 3' has fans eagerly anticipating a triumphant comeback.
Garner isn't new to working with 'Deadpool' star Ryan Reynolds and the director Shawn Levy who co-wrote the script. They all collaborated in the Netflix science-fiction drama, ‘The Adam Project’, last year, where Garner played the character of the younger version of Reynolds' Adam's mother in a story involving time travel.
