After a seven-year journey as a married couple, well-known celebrities Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have decided to part ways. Close acquaintances, privy to this transformation, revealed that the announcement made on a recent Monday hardly came as a shock. Unseen by the public eye, the pair was gradually inching towards different paths in life.
The Vanity Fair 95th Oscars Party of 2023 painted a stark contrast to the brewing turmoil. The couple appeared together, their impending separation still a secret. However, a close source confided to People magazine that the chasm had been widening for quite a while, fuelled by diverging focuses on different life aspects.
News outlets like The New York Daily News attempting to reach Vergara and Manganiello's representatives were met with silence. Meanwhile, rumors persisted about the pair's separate appearances. The 46-year-old Manganiello was seen working on his upcoming film "Nonnas" in Hoboken, N.J. On the other hand, Vergara, the "Modern Family" star, celebrated her 51st birthday sans Manganiello.
An insider quoted, "Their differing paths emerged once the initial passion fizzled out… the trivial differences escalated." The couple, who met at the esteemed White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in 2014 tied the knot in 2015 at the deluxe The Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Fla.
But rumors started floating less than two years post their luxurious wedding. A magazine cover implying Vergara's alleged infidelity in 2017 met with severe backlash from the actress. "The editor of this magazine is an idiot," she criticised publicly. Manganiello too lambasted the publication for photoshopping his wife's engagement ring off her finger, labeling it a "fake story". He advised against supporting such publications with a purchase.
As accusations and speculations continued to swirl, Vergara and Manganiello remained unfazed. They showed no concern for the rumors, brushing them off as part and parcel of the entertainment industry. Together, they have no children. Vergara has a son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, from a prior union.
