Former Governor Andrew Cuomo remains unwavering in his determination to address the sexual harassment allegations brought against him. Recent reports indicate that Cuomo has issued subpoenas to five of his 11 accusers in a bid to depose them regarding their claims. The lawsuit in question was filed by a New York State trooper who accused the former governor of misconduct.

Cuomo stepped down from his position in August 2021 following a condemning investigation by state Attorney General Letitia James. The investigation revealed a pattern of sexual misbehavior within the executive chamber, leading to a series of accusations and subsequent legal actions. Throughout these proceedings, Cuomo has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

To further his defense, the former governor sent subpoenas in March and April, requesting records of communications between the women, state investigators, news media, and other parties. Mariann Wang, a lawyer representing two of the women, confirmed the subpoenas' existence, and outlined that her clients would comply with the legal process while protecting themselves against undue burdens or harassment.

According to a January ruling, Cuomo may receive reimbursement from the state for his legal fees. Additionally, he possesses a substantial campaign fund estimated at $16 million. As he continues to combat the charges, Cuomo's lawyer, Rita Glavin, has been restricted from speaking on the matter despite being quoted in the Wall Street Journal's story.
