E. Jean Carroll made her feelings known to Donald Trump's attorney, Joe Tacopina, after a jury found the former president liable for sexually abusing and defaming her. As he congratulated her team on their win, the advice columnist said, "He did it — and you know it." Carroll expressed a sense of victory but struggled to put her overwhelming emotions into words.

Her victory was dedicated to all women who had suffered without being believed. The jury held Trump accountable in a courtroom, awarding Carroll $5 million in damages for the abuse and defamation that occurred 25 years ago at Bergdorf Goodman, an incident brought to light decades later.

The former president did not attend the trial, nor did he take the stand, despite promises to do so. Instead, jurors watched Trump's combative videotaped deposition and the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape. Although his attorney claimed victory as the evidence presented did not conclusively prove rape, Carroll's attorney Roberta Kaplan remains confident about the upcoming appeal, stating that Trump's lawyers have no legitimate arguments.
