Two women fell victims to a shooting incident in the Bronx, suffering injuries due to a gunman aiming for someone else. The shooter was involved in an argument inside a business located on the Grand Concourse close to E. 188th St., which then escalated outdoors at around 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday. As the gunman began to fire, panic started and nearby pedestrians sought cover. The injured women, aged 52 and 44, were innocent bystanders, with one of them simply waiting for the bus nearby. Both women suffered gunshot wounds to their legs, while the 44-year-old was also hit in the arm and stomach. They were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and are now in stable condition. The assailant, described as wearing a tan hat and a light-colored sweater, managed to escape and remains at large. Witnesses at the scene, such as Solange Dassou, a security guard who was also waiting for the bus, recounted the horrifying experience of trying to find cover and fearing for their own lives during the ordeal.
